LendingTree Q3 2026 Revenue Rises 12% Despite Goodwill Charge
LendingTree posted $343.6M in Q3 2026 revenue, up 12% year-over-year, but a $98.8M non-cash goodwill charge drove a steep net loss.
LendingTree reported third-quarter 2026 consolidated revenue of $343.6 million, a 12% increase from the same period a year earlier, with growth recorded across all three of the online lending marketplace's business segments, the company disclosed in its latest earnings release.
Despite the top-line gains, the company posted a GAAP net loss of $72.4 million, or $5.15 per diluted share. The loss was driven primarily by a $98.8 million non-cash goodwill impairment charge, an accounting adjustment that does not affect the company's cash position or day-to-day operations but significantly weighs on reported earnings under standard accounting rules.

Stripping out non-cash items and other adjustments, LendingTree's variable marketing margin — a key internal profitability metric that measures revenue remaining after direct marketing costs — came in at $94.9 million for the quarter. Adjusted EBITDA reached $39.6 million, figures that analysts and management typically use to gauge the underlying operational health of the business.
The broad-based revenue growth across all segments signals continued consumer demand for LendingTree's marketplace model, which connects borrowers with competing lenders across categories including home loans, personal loans, and insurance products. The goodwill charge, while substantial on paper, reflects a reassessment of acquired asset values rather than a deterioration in current business performance.
